Frugal Scrapper Extraordinaire:)

For those of you who have been following my blog, THANK YOU, I'm still here and as FRUGAL as ever. I'm just expanding my blog title to further reflect my "altered" muse. I'm still the same (sometimes goofy) FRUGAL SCRAPPER that I've always been and will continue to focus on FRUGAL papercrafting projects:)

April's Frugal Scrappin' Class Sample is READY! Whoo Hoo!

For the April Frugal Scrappin' class, we will be making 4 note cards, the envelopes AND the very cool packaging.  Just in time for the Spring holiday gift giving season, this project will make the perfect gift for Mother's Day, Bridal Shower favors, Teacher's gifts, and more!

I first saw this project when a friend of mine, Wanda, made this awesome project with her TNT challenge club supplies.  She did such an awesome job (with a Christmas theme), that I knew I just had to use the idea for a Frugal Scrappin' class.  As always, we will be using Distress inks and some other Frugal Scrapper favorites as we complete our project.

Come join us on April 29th at Ever After Scrapbooks in Vista as we complete this very fun, technique heavy project.
The project will include a package embellishment made from scalloped circles, distress inks and a brad.  I learned how to make this flower at the March TNT meeting at Ever After.  Thanks, Jacquie, our awesome TNT leader for showing us how to make these flowers during our make-n-take:)

Shown above is the entire project.  There will be a few "treats" in the middle (think chocolate!)...I hope to see you all at the class on April 29th!

Happy Easter!

One HUGE case of creative block goin' on here...

Hey everyone:)

Long time, no blogging!  I am going through one of the longest creative blocks I've had in a LONG time!  I even went to an AWESOME scrappin' weekend with a friend a few weeks back...AND...spent almost the WHOLE time workin' on class assigments for my classes at Mira Costa....

I've been thinkin'...(yes, the logs in my brain are smokin' right now)...that part of the REASON for my CREATIVE scrappin' block is that I'm taking several ART classes right now at Mira Costa...AND...maybe my creativity is just comin' out in other ways right now...

I'm working on a project for In Design (LOVE this class!) where I have to make a poster for a dance review at the school...ONE lucky member of our class WILL have their rendition of the poster chosen as the official poster used for the Fall 2010 dance review.  In addition to the poster, we are also creating the post card that will be sent to homes in the area as a promotion for the dance review.  There are some AWESOMELY creative people in my class and I'm honored to be taking this class with them, so the chances of my poster being chosen are probably slim to none, but the process is still SOOOO COOL!

Another class I'm taking is called "Design and Color" which is a color theory class.  How about this????  I get to paint every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 8 a.m. to 10:45 a.m....what an AWESOME way to start the day:)

My 3rd art class is digital photography.  I've been learning SOOO MUCH about photography in this class and am thrilled at how much better my photography is getting!  I did buy a Canon Rebel XS DSLR camera for this class and I LOVE it!  Once my confidence builds, I'll have to share some of the pics on my blog.

In any event, I really do think my creative mind is working overtime and isn't allowing for any creative focus on my crafting side...BUT when my focus can again return to crafting, I'm sure having these classes behind me will do GREAT THINGS for my creativity!

Whoo hoo!!!....now back to my projects:)...oh....and HAPPY APRIL FOOLS DAY!

Your friendly and creativity blocked frugal scrapper:)
