Frugal Scrapper Extraordinaire:)

For those of you who have been following my blog, THANK YOU, I'm still here and as FRUGAL as ever. I'm just expanding my blog title to further reflect my "altered" muse. I'm still the same (sometimes goofy) FRUGAL SCRAPPER that I've always been and will continue to focus on FRUGAL papercrafting projects:)

Another Great Frosted Designs Challenge...and EA Class:)

I am having SO much fun being part of the Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday design team!  They have another great project (that is near and dear to my "frugal" heart, hee hee).  This week's Fabulous Friday challenge is to recycle/upcycle something and use it in a project.

Since I'm also creating a project for an upcoming class at Ever After Scrapbooks, I thought I'd try to incorporate the FD challenge into my project...after all, my EA students are used to my "frugal" side, so why not continue this trend, right?

Here is the project for my upcoming EA class (to be held on April 29th)...just in time for Mother's Day gift giving!

Now, before you ask...hey, where is the "recycle/upcycle" in this project....well, take a closer look at the embellishments below...

All of these items...yes...the bird, heart AND fun are all made with my sizzix AND the packaging from the printer's tray!

Also made using the cardboard packaging from the printer's tray is the other words (mom and Jake) as well as the post for the clock and the key hole:)

Feel free to hop on over to the Frosted Designs blog and participate in this fun and "green" challenge:)

Supplies:
Printer's Tray - 7 Gypsies
Patterned Paper - Graphic 45 Curiosity Shoppe
Cardstock - Bazzill Basics
Photos - my dear friend Robin's son, Jake
Diecuts - Various Sizzix diecuts
Beads, wire, brads - from my stash

Frosted Designs - Things with Wings:)

Hello Bloggers:)

Frosted Designs has another AMAZING Fabulous Friday Challenge...to design a layout, card, or "off the page" project using "Things with Wings".  For my take on it, I've created an eclectic card using some random findings from my scrap stash.  For the "Things with Wings", I used my TH caged bird die.  If you look really hard at this card, you can see I even used part of the cage.  I also made my own "rose" along with a Martha Stewart edge punch, some of my Graphic 45 paper (a girl's gotta use her stash, right?), and a TH stamp.  Hop on over and join in on the Fabulous Friday fun HERE.

"Creative Lifting" again:)

I'm telling you, between two of my dearest scrapping buddies, I'll stay inspired for a very long time:)

Oh, and in true scrapping style, I'm still using my stash, my Basic Grey Bittersweet line from a few years ago...a line I just LOVED so much that I hoarded quite a bit, lol...I'm lovin' these pink and brown shades so much, that I'm thrilled to be so inspired to make some AMAZING cards!

I found another card that Melody recently made and was able to incorporate the "sketch" of this card into another card I just LOVE.

I was also able to incorporate a stamp that I bought while visiting Texas last year.  Unfortunately I didn't keep the packaging and can't remember who makes this stamp.  If anyone knows, please share:)

Here is a link to Melody's card.  I'm sure you'll agree it's just adorable!  The gift bag is oh so cute, too.
Here's my take on Melody's card:

Supplies:

Patterned Paper - Basic Grey Bittersweet line
Cardstock - Bazzill Basics
Stamp - "thinking of you" from savvystamps.com

Other - Ribbon and stamps from my stash

I'm still in the card making mood, but a bit low on mojo, so I went over to surf my friend Melody's blog and WOW, did I find lots of inspiration over there!  I decided on a card she actually posted 2 years ago for my inspiration today.  Here is Melody's card and here's my take on it.  Thanks for the inspiration, Melody!

As you may notice, I wasn't careful with my stamping, so had to take a brown sharpy to it, lol:)

Supplies

Patterned Paper - Basic Grey Bittersweet line
Stamps - My Favorite Things for sentiment, Lamp ????
Cardstock - Bazzill Basics
Ink - Memento in Rich Cocoa, TH Distress Ink in Vintage Photo

Missing you...Happy Birthday, Amanda:)

It's March 4, 2012 and 29 years ago, my MOST WONDERFUL dear daughter was born.  She has grown into an AMAZING, SMART, TALENTED, BEAUTIFUL woman, and I'm VERY PROUD of her.

Alas, she still lives on the east coast and is busy attending nursing school and raising two BEAUTIFUL children...and I miss her every day!  We talk often and try to visit each other as much as possible, but I still MISS her.  Amanda, this card is on it's way to you:)  Love you dear daughter.

I was searching through some of my buddies' blogs and came across a BEAUTIFUL card a friend of mine made.  It "spoke" to me, so I decided to use it for inspiration as I designed a card to send to my daugther.

For my inspiration, please visit Gloria's blog.  Thank you, Gloria!  My take on Gloria's card is below:)

Supply list:

Patterned Paper - Basic Grey Bittersweet Line
Stamps - Technique Tuesday
Cardstock - Bazzill

I'm so excited!  I am going to be teaching a class at Ever After Scrapbooks!  Woohoo!!!!  Many of you know that I've taught at Ever After off and on for about 4 years, but took a break for the last year or so to re-group and re-vitalize my scrappin' mojo!

Well, I'm BAAAAAACK!!!!  I can't wait until class day which will be March 31st from 10 am to 1 pm. I will be teaching a card class using ALL NEW Technique Tuesday stamps and Prima's NEW Songbird collection.  The class description is as follows:

Join the oh-so-talented Lori McCausland for a Stamping Workshop using the new Technique Tuesday stamps from CHA Winter. And, a delightful bonus: Lori is including a new Technique Tuesday stamp for each student! You’ll leave with five completed cards...plus the stamp! $25."

My First Frosted Designs DT Project:)

I'm so excited to be sharing my first Frosted Designs DT Fabulous Friday Challenge.  For this challenge, we we were to create something using "numbers".  Well now, being a banker by day, I thought HOW COOL is that...my very 1st DT challenge is to work with "numbers"?

In additon, the sponsor for this challenge is Graphic 45, woohoo!  Since in true frugal scrapper spirit, the Frosted Designs Blog does challenge you to use your "stash"...and our challenge as DT members is to do the same with the understanding that IF we have products we can use that will support our sponsor, we should use them...AND for those that already know me, Graphic 45 is one of my FAVORITE paper companies.  Therefore, I was able to USE MY STASH while supporting our sponsor this week.

Here is a "numbers" card that I created using one of my favorite Graphic 45 paper lines, "on the boardwalk".  I've been using this line for quite a few of my cards recently, and I'm thrilled at how they have turned out.

I've also incorporated use of my newest favorite stamps by Technique Tuesday.  I used stamps from several sets including the "All Aboard" set, the "Measure Up" set as well as the "Bring on the Sun" by Ali Edwards set.  For those of you who live locally (San Diego area), Ever After Scrapbooks just received a shipment of the newest Technique Tuesday stamps.  Go check them out, they are AWESOME!

I hope you join in on the "numbers" Fabulous Friday Challenge over at the Frosted Designs Blog:)
