Frugal Scrapper Extraordinaire:)

For those of you who have been following my blog, THANK YOU, I'm still here and as FRUGAL as ever. I'm just expanding my blog title to further reflect my "altered" muse. I'm still the same (sometimes goofy) FRUGAL SCRAPPER that I've always been and will continue to focus on FRUGAL papercrafting projects:)

Frosted Designs Fab Friday - Rolled Paper:)

When I saw that the challenge for Fab Friday over at Frosted Designs, I was THRILLED!!!!

Those of you who know me also know that I just LOVE to create embellishments with paper.  I had a blast creating some beautiful rolled paper flowers for this card.

These Flowers turned out great.  I made them by cutting a strip of paper about 1/2" wide x 12".  I then squirted a bit of water on the paper using one of my mini misters.  Then I crumpled the paper and twisted it around in circles until my flowers were complete.  I loosened the flowers then so I could add a bit of liquid glue and then pressed the rolled paper back together to form these "perfect" flowers.

I then finished the inside of my card with the perfect little message and another rolled flower.

Please join in on the challenge over at Frosted Designs!  We'd LOVE to see your work:)

enJOY!

Frosted Designs - Weather:)

Now, I have to say, I really wanted to get creative and create something really cool using our "weather" theme this week over at the Frosted Designs blog...you know, snow, sleet, rain, and clouds can make for some really COOL creations...but ALAS, I thought back on the reason I first moved to SUNNY California, AND the WEATHER I LOVE MOST...and just had to go with it...sometimes a frugal scrapper's just gotta do what a frugal scrapper's gotta do, ya know?

In addition to my LOVE of all things SUNSHINE, I had some AWESOME stamps I just bought over at Ever After Scrapbooks.  These are Technique Tuesday stamps, and I can't say enough about how crisp and clean they are.  I also had the chance to use them on some really awesome new specialty stamping paper by Inkssentials that I also purchased over at Ever After.

Also using some of my favorite Graphic 45 paper, I completed the following card:

I really don't know what I'm going to do when I run out of this AWESOME Graphic 45 paper pack...I feel a hoarding moment coming on, lol...the good news is that G45, as I fondly call them never ceases to AMAZE me with their paper lines:)  So with that in mind, I also look forward to future themes:)

Oh, and in true frugal fashion, I chose to make the pp be the star of this card...I even made my "embellishments" out of this paper.  Of course, the Technique Tuesday stamps are the perfect finish for this oh so inspirational card.

Card Patterns Sketch 160...and another class at EA?

Happy Easter to all of my blogging buddies!

I had a pretty quiet morning and found some time to work on some great cards.  For inspiration, I used the current Card Patterns sketch:)  While this sketch is AWESOME, I found it a bit of a challenge to transform it to a masculine card (which was my other goal today).  In preparation of hopefully teaching another class at Ever After Scrapbooks at the end of May/beginning of June, I wanted to concentrate on masculine cards so we could celebrate the men in our lives.

While I did make 4 cards, I'll give you a sneak peek, using the one I made based on the Card Patterns challenge this week.

Here is the challenge sketch:
And here is my masculine "take" on it:)

For this (and the others that I'll show you later) I used the Graphic 45 Kraft Reflections line.  What I really like about this line is that most of the papers can be used for either feminine OR masculine cards.  I also love the neutral tones that give you the opportunity to add any splash of color you want.

I've had fun playing along with the Card Patterns blog this week and am really happy with my project:)

Supplies:

Patterned Paper:  Graphic 45 Kraft Reflections
Cardstock:  Bazzill Basics
Rhinestones:  Queen & Company Nightfall
Stamp:  From my stash (can't remember brand, sorry)

enJOY:)
