Frugal Scrapper Extraordinaire:)

For those of you who have been following my blog, THANK YOU, I'm still here and as FRUGAL as ever. I'm just expanding my blog title to further reflect my "altered" muse. I'm still the same (sometimes goofy) FRUGAL SCRAPPER that I've always been and will continue to focus on FRUGAL papercrafting projects:)

Ahhhhhhhhhh, I scrapped all day:)

WOW!!!!  What a GREAT feeling!  I working on a SCRAPBOOK project for ME!!!!...well, for me to give as a gift to my AWESOME stepmom as part of her 70th birthday gift/Mother's Day gift....I just hope she's o.k. with waiting until the end of June to get it:)

I've actually used this gift giving opportunity to work with some of Teresa Collins' new Travel line called TRAVEL LEDGER...I just LOVE this line...her famous combination of rich reds and black are mixed with beige and white (with a bit of blue and grey thrown in, to).  I just LOVE Teresa's knack for creating AWE-SO-ME scrapbook lines.

This line was just in time for me to make a TRAVEL album for a trip I just took with My stepmom and my sister, Kym.  We all met in Arizona (from PA, NC and CA) so we could do a mini GIRLS ONLY road trip!  We started in Phoenix, made a few stops, and ended at the Grand Canyon.  Since I'd never been there before, it was AWESOME!

For those of you who know me, I'm a bit of a "risk taker" when it comes to taking PHOTOS, so I got my sister to sit on the edge of one of the cliffs.  Then we made it look like we were trying to push each other off while my stepmom caught a GREAT photo!  Thanks, Pat...you are THE BEST!

We actually got alot of great photos, some of which are in this album.  I'll share a few pages with you now, and will also create a link to the album when I get it into photobucket.

I'm pleased to say I used a couple of my frugal ideas as I made this 6 x 12 acrylic based album.  Teresa does a great job of making it so we can use the strips on the end of her papers as additional decorations, so I did exactly that:)

Check out a few of the pics below:

I will be teaching this class at EVERAFTER SCRAPBOOKS in Vista, CA on Sunday, June 27th from 1-4.  The cost will be $45, which is an AWESOMELY frugal price for a 6 x 12 album with 16 pages!  Whoo hoo!

In addition to Teresa's Travel Ledger line, we will use my most favorite T!m Holtz products, include distress inks and alcohol inks.

Thanks for visiting and have an AWESOMELY INSPIRATIONAL DAY!

Wow!  Hello fellow bloggers, Happy Mother's Day:)

I can't believe it's been over a month since I've posted to my blog!  For those of you who don't know, I've just gone back to work in banking on a full time basis in the last month, so I'm still working on my time management skills so I can still fit in my blogging, teaching, bookkeeping, blogging, and going to school ALL while I now work a full time job!

I have to say that after two years of absence from banking, I'm LOVING my banking job!  Yes, it DOES take time FROM MY OTHER LOVE...paperCRAFTING, but duty called and it was time for me to get back to my banking career.

Soooo, now for my May Frugal Scrappin' Class projects...this month we're celebrating the Dads and Grads in our lives.  The class projects are shown below, EnJOY!

The class will be held Sunday, May 30th from 1-3.  The class is still VERY frugally priced at only $15!...and as many of you know, it sells out almost EVERY month, so sign up soon!  The class is held at Ever After Scrapbooks in Vista, Ca, so give them a call at 760-630-CROP (2767) and sign up:)  We have a BLAST!\\

April's Frugal Scrappin' Class Sample is READY! Whoo Hoo!

For the April Frugal Scrappin' class, we will be making 4 note cards, the envelopes AND the very cool packaging.  Just in time for the Spring holiday gift giving season, this project will make the perfect gift for Mother's Day, Bridal Shower favors, Teacher's gifts, and more!

I first saw this project when a friend of mine, Wanda, made this awesome project with her TNT challenge club supplies.  She did such an awesome job (with a Christmas theme), that I knew I just had to use the idea for a Frugal Scrappin' class.  As always, we will be using Distress inks and some other Frugal Scrapper favorites as we complete our project.

Come join us on April 29th at Ever After Scrapbooks in Vista as we complete this very fun, technique heavy project.
The project will include a package embellishment made from scalloped circles, distress inks and a brad.  I learned how to make this flower at the March TNT meeting at Ever After.  Thanks, Jacquie, our awesome TNT leader for showing us how to make these flowers during our make-n-take:)

Shown above is the entire project.  There will be a few "treats" in the middle (think chocolate!)...I hope to see you all at the class on April 29th!

Happy Easter!

One HUGE case of creative block goin' on here...

Hey everyone:)

Long time, no blogging!  I am going through one of the longest creative blocks I've had in a LONG time!  I even went to an AWESOME scrappin' weekend with a friend a few weeks back...AND...spent almost the WHOLE time workin' on class assigments for my classes at Mira Costa....

I've been thinkin'...(yes, the logs in my brain are smokin' right now)...that part of the REASON for my CREATIVE scrappin' block is that I'm taking several ART classes right now at Mira Costa...AND...maybe my creativity is just comin' out in other ways right now...

I'm working on a project for In Design (LOVE this class!) where I have to make a poster for a dance review at the school...ONE lucky member of our class WILL have their rendition of the poster chosen as the official poster used for the Fall 2010 dance review.  In addition to the poster, we are also creating the post card that will be sent to homes in the area as a promotion for the dance review.  There are some AWESOMELY creative people in my class and I'm honored to be taking this class with them, so the chances of my poster being chosen are probably slim to none, but the process is still SOOOO COOL!

Another class I'm taking is called "Design and Color" which is a color theory class.  How about this????  I get to paint every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 8 a.m. to 10:45 a.m....what an AWESOME way to start the day:)

My 3rd art class is digital photography.  I've been learning SOOO MUCH about photography in this class and am thrilled at how much better my photography is getting!  I did buy a Canon Rebel XS DSLR camera for this class and I LOVE it!  Once my confidence builds, I'll have to share some of the pics on my blog.

In any event, I really do think my creative mind is working overtime and isn't allowing for any creative focus on my crafting side...BUT when my focus can again return to crafting, I'm sure having these classes behind me will do GREAT THINGS for my creativity!

Whoo hoo!!!....now back to my projects:)...oh....and HAPPY APRIL FOOLS DAY!

Quick Update:)

O.k., for those of you that know me well, I'm always changing the look of my blog...well, this last one just wasn't workin' for me.  A friend of mine commented that it showed my softer side, and thank you for that (miss you, girl)...but I have to say, my edgier/goofy side makes me feel much more creative.

With that being said, I'm going back to my last background (for now, lol) until I come up with something else I like better.  Since I'm taking an InDesign class right now, I can't wait to creat something that's "just right" for me:)

Until then, HAVE AN AWESOMELY WONDERFUL AND CREATIVE DAY:)

The sun is shinin' and the birds are singin'  (and the saws are sawin' and hammers are hammerin' and making their own music, lol) and today is gonna be a GREAT DAY:)

P.S...my deck is being worked on right now, they're replacing ALL the wood and they are taking FOREVER!  (They started on our building back in January)!  Sheesh, let's get this project done already!
