Frugal Scrapper Extraordinaire:)

For those of you who have been following my blog, THANK YOU, I'm still here and as FRUGAL as ever. I'm just expanding my blog title to further reflect my "altered" muse. I'm still the same (sometimes goofy) FRUGAL SCRAPPER that I've always been and will continue to focus on FRUGAL papercrafting projects:)

Inspired by Color...Frugal Scrappin' Style

I have always been inspired by color...now not just one or two colors, but multiple colors that when seen together, exude specific emotions...the colors that inspire me today are lavender, white and green.  It may have something to do with the fact that these colors are ALL AROUND me right now as the flowers shown below are all throughout my neighborhood.

Now for me, these colors together are calming.  Whether it is sunny or cloudy outside, these colors calm me...ahhhhhhhh...a breath of fresh air in this hustle bustle life I live.

Today, I decided to take a frugal foto of these colors and use them as inspiration for a crafting project.

Here is my inspiration:
Here is what I was inspired to make:

Since my son and dil lost their little one this week AND purple and green are my dil's favorite colors, I was inspired to use some pp I've had in my stash for quite a while and create this beautiful card.

I used a TH stamp on the front of the card...a fitting sentiment, along with a Technique Tuesdays Ali Edwards stamp on the inside of the card.  I was also inspired to use my new TH distress markers with an old stamp in my stash.

I pulled some white roses out of my stash and "dusted" them with some TH dusty concord distress ink, added some buttons and ribbon and completed my card.

Ingredients:

PP - Making Memories from 2005...WOW this is old paper!
Cardstock - Bazill Basics
Stamps - card front-Tim Holtz and flower stamp from my stash/card inside-Ali Edwards from Technique Tuesday
Ribbon - from my stash (probably from Michaels)
Buttons - from my stash (probably off of an old shirt)
Border punch - EK Success
TH Distress markers - Dusty Concord and Pine Needles
TH Distress ink pads - Dusty Concord and Pine Needles

Using this color inspiration to make this card was very therapuedic.

I hope you find inspiration in color today!

WOW - what a gorgeous card. Don't you love the water color look you get when stamping with distress markers? The pattern paper and the construction of your card are perfect. I'm sure your DIL will love and appreciate this beautiful card.
Continued prayers for healing for you and your family.
Love, Teresa
